PORTA CHIUSA Residency at Dropa House 2026

For this residency at Dropa House, PORTA CHIUSA is Paed Conca with Ghazal Faghihi, Joachim Badenhorst and Hans Koch
PORTA CHIUSA is a clarinet trio led by Beirut-based Swiss musician Paed Conca and as a trio active since 2009. They played many festivals and
tours and is a very special and important project for someone as a composer and performer who also wants to express himself politically.
"Porta Chiusa" means "closed door." For this residency in Antwerp they will , perform the composition FEAR, who is written for four clarinets,
this time with Ghazal Faghihi, Joachim Badenhorst and Hans Koch. The composition is based on the use of micro tonal chords and talks
about FEAR as a constant state of mind. Something we are confronted daily and everywhere in the World. PORTA CHIUSA enables
possibilities to realize musical visions that are only possible clarinets. What at first glance may seem one-sided or limited, turns out
to be an enrichment. The tonal proximity creates possibilities that are not available with different instruments.
